Sarge AI Text Messaging Privacy Policy
Covers the SMS text notifications a post member receives after opting in by phone. This policy stands on its own for that program — it is separate from anything else about your post.
1 What this policy covers
Sarge AI is an AI phone receptionist built by All Engines Studio, LLC ("we," "us," "our") and used by American Legion and VFW posts. This policy explains what happens to your information if you sign up to receive text messages from your post through Sarge AI — dues reminders, meeting reminders, and event notices. It does not cover anything else about the post itself or about calls that don't involve texting.
2 Information we collect
When you opt in by phone, we collect only what's needed to text you correctly:
- Your name, as you gave it on the call
- Your mobile phone number
- Which post you're a member of
- The date you opted in, and a record that your post's administrator was notified of it
We do not ask for or collect payment information, date of birth, or anything beyond what's needed to send you the right messages.
3 How we use it
We use your information only to operate this texting program: to send you the messages you signed up for, to know who to stop texting if you opt out, and to let your post's own administrator confirm who's enrolled.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share your mobile number with anyone for marketing or promotional purposes — ours or anyone else's. Your opt-in itself is never sold or shared either.
4 Who we share it with
We share your phone number only with the vendor that physically carries the text message — currently Twilio, our SMS delivery provider — solely so the message can be delivered. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. That's the complete list; there is no other sharing.
5 Message frequency and cost
Messages are low-volume and tied to your post's actual calendar — dues reminders, meeting notices, and event notices — not a fixed daily or weekly count. Message and data rates may apply from your wireless carrier.
6 Opting out
Reply STOP to any message at any time to be removed from this program immediately — no need to call in. Reply HELP for support. You can also ask to be removed the same way you opted in: by telling Sarge AI on a call.
7 How long we keep it
We keep your opt-in record for as long as you're enrolled in this program, plus a reasonable period afterward to prove we honored an opt-out if one is ever disputed. We don't keep it indefinitely for no reason.
8 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, where practical, let enrolled members know by text.
